Shot to death in Houston: Takeoff, a member of the rap group Migos

Takeoff, who made up a third of the mumble-rap group Migos, is said to have died after being shot early on Tuesday morning in Houston.

Takeoff, whose actual name was Kirshnik Khari Ball and who was 28 years old, was killed in a shooting at a bowling alley in Houston at approximately 2:30 in the morning as he and Quavo were playing dice. Takeoff was pronounced dead at the scene. Two additional people who were present on the property were shot and transported to the hospital. Quavo was not hurt in any way.

In 1994, Takeoff was born in Lawrenceville, Georgia. In 2008, he formed Polo Club with his uncle and cousin, Quavo and Offset. Juug Season, their debut mixtape as Migos, was released in 2011.

Friends and fans of the late artist shared their condolences and memories of him on Twitter. In his tweet, boxer  Chris Eubank Jr. wrote “I remember Takeoff being a very down to earth, cool dude, can’t believe I’m having to say this again about another young black star being killed for no reason, something really has to change in the industry.”
